SUMMARY:Child Development Associate Credential Prep
DESCRIPTION:Lake Michigan College- South Haven Campus will offer a Child Development Associate Credential Preparation Course on Tuesdays and Wednesdays\, June 9 to July 8\, from 6-9pm.\n\nThe Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential is recognized nationally as a key stepping stone in an early childhood education career. Students will expand their caregiving skills\, including providing a safe\, healthy learning environment\, supporting social and emotional development\, advancing physical and intellectual competence\, and establishing positive relationships with families.\n\nThe class will provide students with training in fundamental CDA concepts through instruction and online and hands-on activities in preparation for sitting for the credentialing examination. The instructor will evaluate portfolios\, resource files\, and competencies for each student and assist in registering them for the certification exam when ready. Additional hands-on experience is required to sit for the examination. Cost for the course is $585.\n\nPrerequisites for this course include successful completion of Short Term Training Preparation Course\, documentation of a clear criminal background check\, and proof of immunizations.\n\nCall 269-926-6832 to register\; deadline is June 1.
