Dockhand
The Michigan Maritime Museum is looking for enthusiastic, friendly, and go-getting individuals for Dockhands. This role works closely with the Commander of the Fleet to ensure the safe and smooth arrivals and departures of Museum vessels. This position would be a great opportunity for people entering the workforce who have an interest in maritime careers.
- Assist with incoming and outgoing museum vessels
- Handling dock lines
- Keeping dock area clean and tidy.
- Historic and replica vessel maintenance and cleaning.
- Answering guest questions about the Museum and On-Water Fleet.
- Other duties as assigned.
This is a seasonal, part-time position that runs May through September. This position requires a willingness to work weekends, weekdays, and occasional evenings and holidays. Must be 15 years of age or older. School work permit required if a minor. Pay is $12.50/hr.
